Nurse vs doctor

When you are a medical student, nurse is one of your best teacher, even if you become a doctor. Somehow, when you become a house officer or for those who do not know, provisional doctor, nurses somehow can be your best friend and your enemy.

I have work in ONG department where nurses is much more important than you as midwives play the main role in conducting deliveries and doctor only work in cases other than normal pregnancy, and as you all can see, normal pregnancy is much more higher in incidence compare to the abnormal one (if not then why we have 6 billions human in this whole world today). In ONG, i can tell that the nurses were very skillful and basically do almost everything for you. You as a helping hand to them, somehow in the end make their job easy and as a reward if you do your best to help them, they will make your life as easy as possible through out your work.

However, things are getting ugly in other department somehow. I used to heard from my other friend that the nurses in women and children hospital departments was so nice. I did not realize it until later.

Why did nurse claimed a war against house officer doctor? And why did the doctor fight back? In the end, thing is getting worse and i believe patient is the one who will sustain the impact for this kind of movement.

A few reason that i can see is the ego of a doctor. Well, a doctor start working with a high rank in goverment but with lack of experiences and we supposed to have a open to learn anything from whoever in the hospital that have more experience than you do. Some of the doctor think that they are clever enough after 5 years of struggling to get a medical degree thus thinking that the nurse is like a maid that they can order everything. Those doctor with this attitude is the one who are bringng the war deeper into a chronic state.

In the other hand, the nurses think that all these new doctor is lack of experience enough and like a senior treating junior, they can do whatever they want and perhaps make them the doctor do their work. And for some unknown reason, some of the nurses always keep a hatred towards any doctor and for real i don't know why because doctors usually will now know whatever the nurses are saying at their back, it is like they have their own secret society ot whatever.

I am too much uncomfortable with this situation furthermore after leaving ONG deparment where the nurses were so nice and always be in the team with the doctor. It is always be in my memory where us, the doctor, rushing and pushing patient for caesar, running everywhere when there are an eclamptic patient coming to the admission centre, and laughing together doing discharges or even hanging around at the counter with the nurses.

Now, i can see that clearly state in a guideline book in the ward -doctor should not group and sit at the counter-. I was like...what? I never had this kind of rule before in previous department.

Anyhow... what i propose here is the nurse and doctor should always work as a team and not treat each other with no respect. It goes to both doctor and nurse. Doctor should always have their utmost respect to the nurse and the nurse should at least have some respect to the doctor as doctor is also a human being.

The most importantly, both should respect their patient as doctor are not meant to do the nurses job and the nurses are not supposed to become a maid for a doctor because in the end both of them are servant for their patient.... and the goverment..haha.

Astro Remote volume not responding

I have been looking around for solution when my Astro beyond remote start having problem where it does not want to control the volume of my astro anymore.

The strange thing is, the remote seem fine and only the mute and volume won't respond.

After realizing that the remote cost around rm250 to be replaced, I start thinking that this is not an ordinary remote control.

After a few minutes of research (only) I found out that this remote can be programmed to be synchronize with our television.

Hmmm. So the remote problem must be cause by it some programming error.

Turn out of you have similar problem like this, all you had to do is to press OK button with volume down until it bleep 4 times then it will be ok. This method canceled the volume control for the television ( meaning that you can only control the tv volume not the decoder).

Later I found out that if you want, you can use your tv only volume to control the astro thus no hassle to have 2 remote at the same time.

1. Make up your mind. I've seen a few of my friends who apply for this pathway and get confused before it begin. Ask yourself, are you really interested in Pathology? Do you know what pathology is? Do you know what kind of work are you going to do in Pathology.
Most of the time, people thought pathology MO or specialist were all just sitting down drinking coffee and chit chat all day long. No work to do. Think again. The best thing to do is to get yourself into the department itself. Work as a pathology MO first, in a few…

Becoming a medical officer in Malaysia: Are you still a real doctor?

To recap from my previous post, a person must completed 5-6 years study in medical school, pass their professional exam, enter 2 years house officer training program, pass their exam and completed their logbooks, then a person can now be called a fully registered Medical Officer / Medical Doctor.

A Journey of a Junior Medical Officer

After 7 or 8 years experience, a house officer will be given a full registration under Malaysian Medical Council. This registration process is a lengthy process which takes up months before it will be completed. Most doctors will apply for full registration 4 months before they finish their house officer training program. The registration will be processed only if all the criteria has been fulfilled by the house officer which includes log book, review by a board of specialist, no disciplinary action recorded, and other paper work stuff that need to be settled. A full registration means that the doctor now can practice as a doctor independently. They can wo…
