Movie weekend

Last weekend was a movie weekend for me. Went to Kota Kinabalu in the middle of Lahad Datu crisis, I don’t give a damn about that. I just need to update my movie addiction with the latest movie. It has been quite some time since my last movie.

So, I decided to watch 4 movie in 2 days.
1.       A good Day to die Hard
2.       Cloud Atlas
3.       Rock oo! Rimba Bara Kembali
4.       Journey to the west
This is my opinion regarding this 4 movie.

1.       A Good Day to Die Hard
Another die hard franchise. I did not watch the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Die hard movie. I just watched the 4.0. But Die Hard 4.0 is truly damn hard movie. I love it. The twist, the action, and the character development was amazing. However,  A good day to Die hard failed to catch up with the previous movie. It seem that the action is to exaggerated and the dialogue is kind of stupid and lame. What I can see when watching this movie is explosion everywhere. Why does it explode? I never bother about it. It was a pure boring movie. Sorry to say, I am not a big fan of die hard and with this kind of movie, I never will become a die hard fan.

2.       Cloud atlas
They said that this movie is kind of the greatest tale of the decade. I don’t really know what is cloud atlas and what is it all about. But with Tom Hanks as one of the actor, I choose to buy the ticket and enjoy my almost 3 hours movie.
Somehow, even though the story a bit messy for some people, but I did manage to relate all the story together. When I did, I feel happy and I feel satisfied watching the movie. The movie is about a long story starting from the year when slave trade is still legal until the year after the civilized human fall and had to fled to another planet to live. It’s a long story. But I love the way the story was told in the movie.
Starting from a son of a slave trader writing a journal about his life, later the journal was read by a gay musician writing love letter to his boyfriend, later the letter and the music was listened by a reporter trying to expose an evil nuclear company plan, then the reporter write a book about it and the book was sent to a book publisher, that book publisher adapt that reporter story and make it his own story, kind of movie was made from that story, then the movie was watched by Somni 451 in the future which give her the idea to trigger a revolution, and that revolution of Somni 451 in Korea trigger a new religion in earth after the human civilization was collapsed, and after that human fled to another planet….. it’s a long story but manage to be compacted into a 3 hours movie.
You all need to watch this movie. The story is amazing.

3.       Rock Oo! Rimba Bara Kembali
A malay movie. Just for fun. I saw the poster saying that this movie is directed and written by Mamat Khalid. I love Mamat Khalid’s movie. The comedy usually fresh and never stop to make you laugh.
However, this movie could be a memorable movie, the jokes are fresh, but I somehow does not like to see rock culture as portrayed by Mamat Khalid. Now I know why that culture almost dead nowadays. It was not nice. Long hair, the way they talk, the way they make decision, everything does not reflect a professional character. By the way, they are rockers. What more do I have to say about them.
The movie can make you laugh for sure. Simplistic story with a not so great ending.

4.       Journey To the West
Who love journey to the west? Who love Son Wukong. I believe everyone know about this tale. Directed by Stephen Chow, I found that this movie is the most worth it movie to watch compare to the previous 3 movie I watched. Seriously. The story is about how everything started. At this time, Sun Wukong was still a bad devil, and the other 2 ( the pig and the fish I guess) also still not become that monk followers until the end of the movie.
The story, smooth. The action and CGI, not bad. The jokes, characteristic of Stephen Chow. The movie, amazing. If you haven’t watch this movie, you are missing something in your life.

So that’s it. I don’t know when will be by next movie weekend with the crisis on going in Lahad Datu. Pray for the safety of our citizen and security force there.

No war. Peace!
