Past Year Question Microbiology Mpath / Entrance for Mpath: Stop doing it.

Its not that I do not want to share past year question with all the young future microbiologist who wanted to sit for the entrance exam, because I believed this will do more harm than good in the end.       There are a few types of people, one who study by reading, and the one who only do past year question hoping that somehow, the question will again appear in this year exam. The second type is walking a very thin line, and a very dangerous one too.       This strategy on answering past year's questions was a famous strategy during our secondary school, SPM, STPM, and even during our medical school examinations. It seem reasonable because no matter what, the knowledge tested during those exams were finite and limited. They can't put out a question which was not in the syllabus.      It was a different story when you want to take master exams. Master degree (and above), have unlimited scope and knowledge to be tested. In fact, the knowledge change every seconds. New scien

Covid-19 Vaccine experience.

Who would have thought that the day would come. The vaccine has arrived in Malaysia, and it has arrived at the 'land below the wind'. The fight between us and Covid is almost over. We may win it this time. The virus may remain within us in this world, but the time has come where we were stronger than them, and perhaps, this truce will remain for a very long time.      When I was listed in the first phase Covid vaccination program in Malaysia, it was like winning the lottery - well not that much. We have been anticipating this for months now, we have read numerous amount of publications, and we were all know that it will come eventually. Nevertheless, it was a joy to hear that it has arrived, and the anticipation- the waiting is over.      I received Pfizer vaccine, as it was the first vaccine arrived in this country. The process of distributing the vaccine must be very difficult and I respect my colleagues those who work day and night planing, organising, and working har

A MONTH IN KOTA KINABALU

Finally, I was back in Kota Kinabalu (KK) after more than 4 years master study in KL. When I left KK, I never think that I will coming back, even though I know I will, but 4 years was such a long time for me. I could not imagine being in someplace else for 4 years then you have to comeback again.      It was a hard and painful experience for me, emotionally, as I have to be parted with my family again. In 2016, I experienced the same thing when I went to KL alone to pursuit my study. Then in 2018, my wife came to KL to further her study. and for 1 year period, I feel like that was it. Living in a unit, with my wife and kids. A lot happen in that 1 year period.      Then 2020 came, with a big crisis. A pandemic. Everything suddenly became so blurred. I can't see the future when the pandemic started. I did not know what to expect.      Even though it was hard, it was also a blessing for me. Because of the pandemic, our exam were postponed. I get to spend more time with my famil
